Six Months Old

Today James is six months old. I look at him and can not believe that we are half way to one year old. James has brought so much joy to our house. Stella and Thomas welcomed their younger brother with open arms and they still accept him with such grace. They understand they need to be quiet when he is sleeping. They let him grab at their faces because "babies show love by touching". They want to feed him, entertain him, love him.

James has given Tony and me the chance to parent one baby at a time. I can only speak for myself but the experience has been amazing. I know James so well....really know his moods and wants and needs. It actually makes me feel guilty that it took me longer with twins to know these things about them. I will say I am not owning any of that guilt though:-)

James is the frosting on the cake. He is like finding a twenty dollar bill in your pocket. He is an unexpected rainbow over the ocean. We had an amazing family before he born and I wondered how it would change. These past six months, I have watched as each of our hearts have swelled to a larger size. James is the reason.
